Ok, so an interesting week just passed.
I created a new Twitter account to aid in the giving away of SAFECODES. In some respects it was successful - on the other a failure.
I did create a space in the decentralised DSCVR - but they do make it very hard to give away things, what you can and can't say and what you can offer the community. True decentralisation right there. Anyway...
------------------------------
I have been surprised at how hard it is to actually GIVE AWAY what are essentially tickets to a mound of ICP tokens.
Though I have been messaged by many decent people - and real genuine folk who I look forward to chatting with - Twitter is absolutely stacked with fake accounts, bots and bean kickers.
The traction it has gained is far lower than I ever expected - and has subsequently made me question if I can even give away every SAFECODE. The IC community seems much smaller than I ever realised (and I have been amongst it for a long time now though never fully engaged).
Several people have even listed their SAFECODES for sale immediately after I have given them to them - which, is fine - but begs the question - is there trust or understanding in what I am trying to do? The contents of this safe will open eyes.
I have spoken to several IC influencers - and for the ones that aren't illiterate and possess all of their own teeth - I have been given reason to question how some of them even receive their Dfinity media grants at all. I guess the proof is really in the level of engagement their posts have - it's nominal in comparison to the the amount of 'followers' or 'subscribers' they supposedly have. Has their 'community' left or were they purchased? When I'm bored and have free time, I might go fishing to find out.
I have owned over 17 companies - I wouldn't and couldn't employ them, bar one.
This has started to make me question the whole IC community space - which is hard for me. I have been involved in the IC and invested in the ICP token since it was over £180 each, and have never stopped investing and in my spare time have built a few things upon it.
The first ever purchase on the trading account (not holdings account).
Kept buying - have never actually stopped. Month on month. The amount of ICP in holding now is staggering in comparison to these numbers due to easy trades and the price dropping like a lead balloon.

As for the IC itself - The tech is there. Some of the ideas are ground - breaking and some of the people involved are great people - but I see cracks - BIG cracks.
All since trying to give away a bucket load of ICP to the IC community. The irony, right?
-------------------------------------
I will have to think hard about where to go from here. Do I hope for more traction so I can accomplish in distributing all of the codes? Do I spend time I don't have in pushing this like some dumb marketing scheme which it shouldn't be? Do I just drop it all into one account? Do I give it to the local Dogs Home? Do I send it across the Ethereum network?
Hell, I honestly don't know right now.
Let's see what happens.
